The Wayne Communique VOLUME I NO. ^ WAYNE COMMUNITY COLLEGE September 8. 1969 LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER LAUNCHES DURING FALL QUARTER A methodical thump! .... thmnp! .... "Here's your library card. Thank you!" coming from the library circulation desk has novf joined in with the whirr, static, and grrrrrrrrrrr.... of garbled messages escaping from the tapes in the Directed Studies Lab. Beginning this fall quarter, the Directed studies Lab and the library will join hands and open doors to become the Wayne Community College Learning Resource Center. The traditional library with its research material, books, and audio visual equipment will merge with the lab and its programmed materials and teaching aids. Mrs. Mildred Councill, director, will head the staff which includes Mrs. Scottie Cox, Mrs. Pamela Lawrence, Mrs. Virginia Lancaster, Charles Lee, Pavco, and Mrs. Elizabeth student aides, who will ■WCCLRC working force, are part time work beginning in September, Mr. Lee and Mrs. Pavco will be new comers to the staff, Mr, Lee formerly worked as audio visual coordinator for the Goldsboro City School System, Mrs, Pavco, whose husband is in the Air Force, worked as an IBM computer operator for the Chaanaaiizn National Bank of Illinois. Cont. page 8 DELTA CHI G^iEGA The brothers of Delta Chi Omega are about to celebrate the first anniversary of the brotherhood. Objectives from the very beginning have been varied and include good scholastic standing, interest in school activities, and loyalty and friendship among the brotherhood, Delta Chi Omega plans to have its second fraternal "rush" on registration day this fall.
